A census date is when the university finalises your enrolment in a subject. Every subject has its own census date based on the session you're studying it in.
The important thing to remember is that if you withdraw from a subject after the census date, you will still have to pay the fees for it. If you have a HELP loan, you'll incur a debt for those fees.
If you're a domestic student with government support, the census date is also the last day you can make up-front fee payments.
